For a home "cure," exfoliate your face by briskly scrubbing with a mild cleanser (try to avoid deodorant soap, use something made for the face). After that, steam your face by draping a towel over your head and positioning your face over a bowl of boiling hot water...do this for about 7 minutes. After that, use an astringent to clean out the now open pores.

The easiest thing to do, however, is invest in some Biore' pore strips...you can find them at and drug or grocery store. You simply moisten the strip and place it on your nose (they also make multi-packs that include strips for the forehead, cheeks, and chin). As the strip dries (it will become very stiff), it literally sucks the impurities out of the pores. You can actually see the nastiness when you pull the strip off!!

For prevention, cleanse your face twice daily with a mild foaming cleanser, and always use astringent afterwards. Neutrogena makes a full line of products specifically for blackheads.

As tempting as it is, DON'T SQUEEZE!! You can cause damage to the skin, or worse yet, rupture the pore and cause cysts and boils.
